Madeline's First Food

Madeline turned six months old on November 20 and we finally started her on solids! She hates rice cereal, just like her big sister did. I can't get her to eat it no matter how much apple sauce I mix in with it. Here are a few pictures of her eating her first vegetable: peas!! It was not love at first taste but she has come around to them. These pictures we just too cute not to share.

Snow in Texas

On December 2 it snowed!! It only lasted for a few short hours and it was gone by 10 am; but we had fun playing in it for a few minutes.

Our Holiday Photos

Here are a few of our family Christmas pictures. We had a great time and the girls took some great photos!

Madeline is 6 Months Old

Our sweet little Madeline is now six months old and she took a few great pictures for us. On November 25 she made her first real attempt at crawling and moved her body forward two times in a row and today she went from a crawling position to a sitting position all on her own and even managed to sit up for about 5 seconds before falling straight back. It was a joy to behold!! I can't believe how fast she is growing.

Our Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

On Sunday it was finally nice enough to make our annual trip to Hall's Pumpkin Patch. It's rained a lot this fall so we were waiting for a few days of sunshine to take the girls. Caitlin had a great time while Madeline had no idea what to make of it.

Caitlin's Summer

Our sweet Caitlin has had a busy summer:

In May she became a Big Sister to our little Madeline and has been better at it then I ever could have hoped for! She helps with diaper changes, fetching things for Mommy while I am nursing and she loves to help cheer up Maddie by making crazy faces at her. Her favorite thing is to see her baby sister smile at her. It is one of the best parts of my day to see my two little ones smiling at each other.

In June she learned that the Summer Camp she was attending at our neighborhood preschool would close for the summer due to low attendance, but that it would be back in the fall. She was so sad, as we had both come to be very found of Ms Sara. Caitlin was so excited to attend everyday, see her friends and tell me what she had learned. I was looking forward to knowing that Caitlin would have some time with kids her own age while we were adjusting to having a baby around the house, but life changes and we change with it. I enrolled Caitlin in a Toddler Hip Hop class at her Ballet School, she loved it! She was not great at it, but she gave it her all and had a great time doing it.

Last week we learned that Ms Sara was going to move out of state and that we would need to find a new preschool for the upcoming school year. I spent a good junk of the weekend researching other schools in our area and finally found one. It starts in Sept and Caitlin is thrilled that her friend Brianna will be attending with her, that there is a large playground AND that the four year old class room is purple!

In July our little baby became a Big Girl; she turned 4! She got a bike and had her party at Chuck E Cheese's! Her favorite gifts were her bike from Mommy and Daddy and her Leapster2 from her Godfather Mike. We were so lucky to have her close friends celebrate with us. Jamie, Ryan and Daddy scored her all kinds of tickets from all the games and she got so many wonderful gifts from everyone! Thanks again to everyone who came. She is still talking about her party.

Caitlin also got to attend the Dora the Explorer Live show! We had a big girl day out with Avery and her Mom and Sofia and her Mom. The six of us went out to lunch and then out to the show. It was a great day for the girls and the Mommies!

Dance Photos

Tuesday was photo day for dance class but I managed to sneak in a few pictures of my own while the girls were dancing. Caitlin loved wearing her special dress and makeup, even though she wasn't thrilled with having her hair curled.

Madeline Update

Chris and I will be going to the hospital early on May 20 to have a scheduled C Section. We can't wait to see and hold our little one. She doesn't like to show us her face at our Dr appointments, so we are both anxious to see our little Madeline. Our doctor estimated that as of today she weighs about 6 lbs, so she is right on track for keeping up with her big sister who weighed 8lbs 5 oz when she was born. Be sure to check back for more updates.

Long Over Due Spring Updates

It has been a very busy spring for the Weber family. We got the new car in late Feb. In early March Chris had his yearly ski trip to Vail, Co. I had so many things I wanted to get done over the week he would be gone, like paint Caitlin's new Big Girl Room, move the furniture into it, and then get the crib put back together and everything else in the nursery ready for little Madeline. My wonderful friend Jenny even agreed to come and help me out with the promise of beer and pizza!! The best laid plans always turn to CRAP! Caitlin woke up the day before Chris left throwing up, we both thought it was the 24 hour bug that had been going around because other then the vomit, she was fine. The day he left, she was fine except for sleeping a lot. Late that evening after Chris was already in CO, she spiked a high fever and became very lethargic. I called the Dr who said to keep her comfortable and bring her in first thing in the morning unless her fever went over 106. Poor baby slept next to me all night while I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She was coughing a lot and throwing up so much that by early morning, she was throwing up a little blood. It turned out that she had the Flu Type A. After a long morning at our wonderful pediatricians office, we went to Cooks Children's hospital to get an IV. Poor little Caitlin was a trooper and after that was over she perked right up, Mommy was a wreck but what else is new?

Jen came over to help paint a day later and the paint looks great! We kicked butt painting and moving furniture but by the end of the day I was beat. I could barely move, thank goodness Jen was there to help me stand up and walk - no joke!!

Chris came home and we got the nursery put together just in time to attend my neighbor, Leigh Anne's shower! She gave birth to a perfect little boy on April 4. Both mommy and baby are doing GREAT!!! Sofia is a great and very proud Big Sister!

The next weekend was my shower, thank you Jen and Michele! I was so lucky that my BFF Jamie was able to make the drive from Shreveport! We made the most of our short time together, we went wedding dress shopping for her, hit Target for some baby shower gifts and got home just in time for the shower! Thanks to everyone for coming. I am so very lucky to have such wonderful girlfriends! Jamie left Sunday morning and our dear friend Luke arrived that afternoon just in time to celebrate Chris' birhtday with us!

A few days later, my WONDERFUL mother in law came for a short visit and she helped me on my crazy search for a car seat (thanks again for putting up with me Mom). We had a great visit that ended with a hail storm!! It cracked our bedroom window and put a few holes in the window screens. Our insurance adjuster is coming this weekend to look at our roof, but most people in our area are having to get new roofs; so we will see. Luckily we got the cars in the garage before the hail started.

From there we went on our last family vacation before the baby arrives. We went to Sea World the first weekend of April and had a wonderful time! It was great weather and no crowds! We had lunch with Shamu and saw some great shows, Caitlin's favorite was the Diego Show! It was not as hard as I thought it would be walking a big park like that at 32 weeks pregnant, but I did get worn out pretty quick. We all had a great time and missed out on all the NASCAR junk here that weekend. We got home just in time to spend some time with my college girlfriend Amy who was here on business. Its always great to play hookie with her! Then it was Easter. Caitlin had a great time searching for eggs and enjoying her treats, her favorites were the My Little Ponies and the Bubble Wand! I will post some pictures soon.

As you can see, its been a very busy time for us. It will soon get worse, little Madeline will be joining us in about five short weeks. I am ready - she is a very restless and strong little thing. She loves to beat up on Mommy! I can't wait to see and hold her!

New Car!!

We finally got a new car! In late Feb we bought a new Toyota RAV4. I love it! There is just enough room for our expanding family with more room inside then you would think. We are getting 23 MPG in town! The best part is that it fits in the garage along with Chris' car!!

First Day of Preschool

We enrolled Caitlin in Preschool on January 19, 2009. She is loving it. We are very fortunate to have an in home preschool in our neighborhood. The Children's Garden is wonderful! Small classes with kids Caitlin will see at out local park and at the pool this summer. She is learning so much and having a great time. It's just a five minute walk from our front door. She goes three mornings a week, three hours a day and its a great break for Mommy! Here are some pictures of her first day.

Swim Lessons

We enrolled Caitlin in swim lessons so that when our HOA pool opens at the end of May, she will be a pro! She is starting to make great progress and we are very proud of her. Here is a picture of her first class.

Ballet Photos

I am so sorry I had not posted these sooner. They were taken in November of 2008 at the first Parents Day for her Ballet Class. She loved showing off (which is really goofing off) for Daddy!
