It has been a very busy spring for the Weber family. We got the new car in late Feb. In early March Chris had his yearly ski trip to Vail, Co. I had so many things I wanted to get done over the week he would be gone, like paint Caitlin's new Big Girl Room, move the furniture into it, and then get the crib put back together and everything else in the nursery ready for little Madeline. My wonderful friend Jenny even agreed to come and help me out with the promise of beer and pizza!! The best laid plans always turn to CRAP! Caitlin woke up the day before Chris left throwing up, we both thought it was the 24 hour bug that had been going around because other then the vomit, she was fine. The day he left, she was fine except for sleeping a lot. Late that evening after Chris was already in CO, she spiked a high fever and became very lethargic. I called the Dr who said to keep her comfortable and bring her in first thing in the morning unless her fever went over 106. Poor baby slept next to me all night while I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She was coughing a lot and throwing up so much that by early morning, she was throwing up a little blood. It turned out that she had the Flu Type A. After a long morning at our wonderful pediatricians office, we went to Cooks Children's hospital to get an IV. Poor little Caitlin was a trooper and after that was over she perked right up, Mommy was a wreck but what else is new?
Jen came over to help paint a day later and the paint looks great! We kicked butt painting and moving furniture but by the end of the day I was beat. I could barely move, thank goodness Jen was there to help me stand up and walk - no joke!!
Chris came home and we got the nursery put together just in time to attend my neighbor, Leigh Anne's shower! She gave birth to a perfect little boy on April 4. Both mommy and baby are doing GREAT!!! Sofia is a great and very proud Big Sister!
The next weekend was my shower, thank you Jen and Michele! I was so lucky that my BFF Jamie was able to make the drive from Shreveport! We made the most of our short time together, we went wedding dress shopping for her, hit Target for some baby shower gifts and got home just in time for the shower! Thanks to everyone for coming. I am so very lucky to have such wonderful girlfriends! Jamie left Sunday morning and our dear friend Luke arrived that afternoon just in time to celebrate Chris' birhtday with us!
A few days later, my WONDERFUL mother in law came for a short visit and she helped me on my crazy search for a car seat (thanks again for putting up with me Mom). We had a great visit that ended with a hail storm!! It cracked our bedroom window and put a few holes in the window screens. Our insurance adjuster is coming this weekend to look at our roof, but most people in our area are having to get new roofs; so we will see. Luckily we got the cars in the garage before the hail started.
From there we went on our last family vacation before the baby arrives. We went to Sea World the first weekend of April and had a wonderful time! It was great weather and no crowds! We had lunch with Shamu and saw some great shows, Caitlin's favorite was the Diego Show! It was not as hard as I thought it would be walking a big park like that at 32 weeks pregnant, but I did get worn out pretty quick. We all had a great time and missed out on all the NASCAR junk here that weekend. We got home just in time to spend some time with my college girlfriend Amy who was here on business. Its always great to play hookie with her! Then it was Easter. Caitlin had a great time searching for eggs and enjoying her treats, her favorites were the My Little Ponies and the Bubble Wand! I will post some pictures soon.
As you can see, its been a very busy time for us. It will soon get worse, little Madeline will be joining us in about five short weeks. I am ready - she is a very restless and strong little thing. She loves to beat up on Mommy! I can't wait to see and hold her!
So today is an exciting day! With Close to My Heart closing their business
on June 30, I have decided to go to Stampin Up! and continue my crafting
